Ever
dreamed of using your dog as a therapy dog? What a great
way to enrich other people's lives!
Our course will prepare your dog for the test administered by Therapy Dogs
International, one of the largest national organizations matching therapy dogs
with nursing homes, hospitals, and schools.
What is a therapy dog?
A therapy dog is trained to provide affection and comfort to
people in hospitals, retirement homes, nursing homes and schools. A
therapy dog must be at least one year old.
Can
any dog be a therapy dog?
No. Therapy dogs must be obedient, calm and socialized to the equipment, sounds
and smells they will encouter when they work.
What if I am not sure about my dog?
He's great with people, but I'd like more information.
We'd be glad to evaluate your dog and tell you if he or she is
a good candidate for our program. Our evaluation fee is
$25.
